Bangladesh’s cricketing icon Shakib on HasanHe has faced an important financial obstacle as he remains unpaid during the last four months of his contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Legal problems for Shakib on Hasan?
Shakib, one of the most celebrated in the international cricket, has been dealing with legal challenges in Bangladesh. It is supposed to face murder complaints related to political riots, which caused their bank accounts to be frozen by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) on November 6, 2024. This development has prevented the BCB from paying off its salary for September, November and December 2024.

Shakib has the right to receive approximately 48 lakes (38,400 USD), excluding taxes from the period in question. Despite the guarantee of the BCB that will honor their contractual obligations, frozen bank accounts have created a logistics challenge to make these payments.
Nazmul AbedinThe President of the BCB’s Cricket Operation has reiterated the Council’s commitment to fulfill his contractual obligations. “He (Shakib) will get his salary according to the agreement because if you play or there is no agreement and, certainly, we will try to fulfill our commitment according to the agreement”, Abedin told Cricbuzz. This guarantee emphasizes the BCB’s intention to solve the problem once the legal obstacles are erased.

Shakib married with Umme ahmed shishir On December 12, 2012. The couple met in 2010 as Shakib played at the County Cricket in England. Umme is a Bangladeshi-American who has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. Together have three sons: two daughters – Alyna Aubrey Hasan (Born November 8, 2015) and Errum Hasan (Born April 24, 2020) – and a son named Eyzah on Hasan (Born March 16, 2021).
