British Airport Hitrov closed on Friday after the fire at a nearby electric substation caused electricity shutdown, the airport officials said.
“Hitrov is experiencing a significant shutdown at the airport from a large fire at a nearby electric substation. While fire brigades respond to the incident, we have no clarity if the authorities can be reliably restored,” said Hitrov’s press.
“We expect significant violations in the coming days, and passengers should not go to the airport under any circumstances until the airport opens,” the press secretary said.
On Friday, the airport will remain closed until at least 23:59 local time.
