Heart Eyes is coming for Slash Up Valentine’s Day

Nothing excites a maniac more than a spring breakers– it all started Black Christmas and Halloweenand now there’s a corresponding horror film to go with it almost every important calendar pageincluding the recent likes of ThanksgivingThe slash-happy Pilgrim and Art the Clown’s Santa Mayhem in Terrifying 3. Valentine’s Day has long been a favorite target on this list, but you don’t have to wait for threats another My Bloody Valentine remake. Heart eyes it’s almost there!

Directed by Josh Ruben (Werewolves Inside)and co-written by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky)Michael Kennedy (It’s a wonderful knife, Freaky)and Phillip Murphy, Heart eyes it’s about a killer whose mask looks like you-know-what emoji, and who targets couples on you-know-what romantic occasions.

As you can tell from those involved behind the camera, there will definitely be a body count, but you can count on some humor as well. Check out the first trailer here:

Because yes, that’s a pair of 1990s horror veterans you see here: Jordana Brewster, who made her big screen debut in 1998. The Faculty before entering Fast and Furious universe (he was also in 2006’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), and Devon Sawa, who was already a genre icon for Final Destination and Useless hands (and Casper!) before his recent jump character turn on the Chucky TV series.

Elsewhere in the cast are two younger but already familiar horror favorites: Mason Gooding (who survived the two most recent). Scream movies) and Olivia Holt (1980s time travel story). Totally Killer). There also seems to be a satisfying series of knives crashing through doors and throats being pierced… plus some cute date-night settings gone horribly wrong (a carousel, a drive-in movie).

Happy Valentine’s Day! Don’t kill yourself, okay? You have to check it out Heart eyes when february 7th?
