Promoter Eddie Hearn was not pleased that the referee did not leave his fighter, Justis Huni (12-1, 7 kos) continued after defeating the count after being abandoned in the tenth round by the British fighter Fabio Wardley (19-0-1, 18 kos) on Saturday night in Ipswich, England.
The premature shutdown saved Wardley from a defeat to the most skilled Huni. It was a completely unilateral struggle to the miracle stop. The way the struggle ended, left a bad taste in the eyes of the fans, who felt that Huni received a gross treatment.
“Well, the referee did not even let him arrive at 10. He actually stopped at nine media About the premature shutdown of referee John Latham for his fighter Justis Huni in the tenth round.
I agree with Hearn. The referee, Latham, pulled the stopper to the count fight again and the contest should not have stopped. It seemed that he had already thought that Huni would not rise and that he could not adjust later after he was surprised.
He made Wardley seemed to have been receiving favorable treatment because he is British. If the shoe was on the other foot, and Wardley beat the count, fighting prematurely, it would not be a great discomfort.
It was a non-British, Huni, given the business. Wardley had a terrible shape, needing a miraculous tie. Unfortunately, the results are in the black controversy cloud, but this is what happens. Poor Huni.
“I thought it was just so good. He hit him almost every round and mistreated him. Fabio is so play, so hard he never surrenders. Unfortunately, he was just turned off and he did what he did not need to do, which is commerce,” said Hearn.
Huni was sitting with a great advantage and did not need to put up at risk by going to find a right hand on the tenth. If he had continued in the Wadley box outside, he would have crossed a victory to one of the decisions or made him.
Wardley seemed exhausted and hit by that late stage of the fight. He was desperate entering the tenth round. You could see it in his eyes and the way he fought the most in that round than he had in the previous three.
“They are (Team Wardley) they will not want to go back to Rightis Huni. I mean, he (Fabio) lost almost every round,” said Hearn. “But justis will be again, and he will fight big again. There are great fights for him in Australia. There are great fights for him.
There is no chance for Wardley’s promoters to resell Huni. They will make this victory and run to the other direction, seeking to challenge the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois Fight next month. They could also take on the WBA secondary champion, Kubrat Pulev, for the minor belt. This is a ratchet belt.
With the way Wardley looked at tonight, the 43 -year -old Pulev would be a risky struggle for him. I would not leave Wardley anywhere near PULV if I were its promoter because it is too limited, and this type is the size and technical capacity that it can only dream of.
“He took the risk here tonight for four or five weeks notice, but it was a risk to a lot of money. It was a struggle that we all think would not be so unilateral, but we think it would be a comfortable victory,” said Hearn.
