Promoter Eddie Hearn has changed directions and leans towards Terence Crawford defeating the Super Media champion, Canelo Alvarez, in his mega-lluita on September 13.
Hearn says that Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) is the “cooler” boy with the work, calmness and belief in himself to defeat Canelo. What Hearn changed his mind was how Alvarez looked at his latest fight against William Scull.
A defeat for Canelo against Crawford would be devastating for his career, saying in the minds of fans that he was always a limited fighter. Many people see Canelo as a flat foot fighter without the ability to move and unable to deal with qualified boxers. Either he has lost or has received controversial victories when he has fought against the talented fighters. Erislandy Lara, Floyd Mayweather Jr. And Austin Trut are examples.
“Ring iq, movement, controlling the struggle with the main hand, the work, the defense, the calm and everything. It’s the belief in itself. I can’t tell you what belief Crawford has,” said Eddie Hearn to fIthight. “He has no doubt in his mind he beats Canelo, and he does it easily.”
Crawford obviously believes that he surpasses Canelo because he has seen the deterioration he has looked at in his last three fights. The 34 -year -old Canelo performed in his latest fight against IBF Super Medium Champion, William Scull, on May 3, would lose in front of many of the best combatants of 168 pounds. You can also include the main boys of 154 pounds, such as Crawford. The Mexican star seems fired.
“Very good could overcome all the great, but he never had the opportunity. That’s why this struggle is important to him,” Hearn said about Crawford. “After watching Canelo against the skull, I think Crawford is the coolest guy there. Very rarely I return against Canelo Alvarez, but I would not be surprised that Crawford won the fight.”
It is very bad Crawford never had the opportunity to fight all the most important boys during his career to show himself as one of the greats. Only now, at the end of his career at the age of 37, he finally has the opportunity and may not get the credit he wants because of Alvarez who shows a serious decline in his physical abilities.
If Crawford really wants to prove it as a big one, it should go through 175 and take on the trilogy winner of Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beeterbiev 3 or David Benavidez. This means that Bud is victorious against Canelo on September 13. For Crawford to defeat Benavidez or the winner of the Bivol-Beeter trilogy, he would be huge and would show that he is worthy of being among the first three places of all the great.
“Originally they were going to spend a Friday night because there is a UFC event on Saturday night. But for me, I think the boxing championship should be a Saturday night,” said Hearn, who reacts to the fight against Canelo vs Crawford to move to Saturday, September 13.
Canelo-Crawford will be launched against an End of the UFC the same night, but there is a good bet that will still do well. It is too big a struggle so that it does not provide a large number.
