Hashmatulllah Shahidi explodes the question about the press on “Glenn Maxwell” ahead of the AFG vs Clash

The captain of Afghanistan Hashmatulah Shahidi is usually a quiet person who likes to have things under control in the field. However, Shahidi was angry with a journalist who asked him a question related to Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell played one of the biggest entries of all time in the World Hate Cup of 2023 against Afghanistan to help Australia seal an impressive victory. It was a game that had come out of Australia’s understanding a long time ago, but Maxwell played a blind man at Wankhede Stadium.

Afghanistan will play an essential game against Australia in Lahore, which will determine the semifinalist of group B. It is expected to be a cracker of a contest and is likely to be seen how Afghanistan addressed Glenn Maxwell this time.

Hashmatullah Shahidi gets angry with the journalist

During a press conference before the Afghanistan party against Australia in Lahore, a journalist asked Hashmatulllah Shahidi about his team’s plans to face Glenn Maxwell. Shahidi was not impressed with the matter and said he has plans for the entire Australian team.

“Do you think we will only come to play with (Glenn) Maxwell? Do you think it will be like this? We are planning for the whole Australian team and I know that he (Maxwell) played very well in the World Cup of 2023, but this is part of the story,” said Shahidi.

Hashmatulllah Shahidi also reminded everyone of Afghanistan’s memorable victory over Australia in the T20 2024 World Cup, which helped them to qualify for the semifinals. He stood out when focusing on the whole team instead of a single player.

“After that, we defeated them in the T20 World Cup and think of all (all) the opposition team. We do not come to the ground with the plan for individual players. We will do our best to come with the planning and we are not playing only Maxwell, but we are playing in Australia,” he added.

Hashmatullah Shahidi focuses on basic foundations

Despite talking about the game, Hashmatullah Shahidi mentioned that his team is trying to focus on doing the basic foundations and keeping things simple without thinking too much about the semifinals matches.

“I think it will be a good game for the cricket and our goal will be to keep things simple and you don’t care much about playing semifinals. We will try to do our basic foundations well,” Shahidi said.

Afghanistan has been playing bright cricket in recent years and have rapid growth in the world of cricket. Their performances have constantly evolved with all the ICC tournaments and are visible through their results.
