The judge presiding over Harvey WeinsteinHe announced the case of abuse on his outstanding charge.
First news broke on Wednesday, June 11, that the jury found Weinstein, 73, guilty on one charge of a criminal act against a former television production assistant Miriam Haley and innocent of the same charge related to a previous model Kaja Sokola. The jurors did not make a decision for the Jessica Mann Cause on Wednesday after spending five days on the other two verdicts. They were ordered to return to court on Thursday, June 12, to continue their discussions on the charges relating to the former actress.
On Thursday morning, “Foreperson the jury refused to return to the jury room on Thursday after saying he was facing threats from other jurors,” back Hollywood reporter. After declaring the abuse, prosecutors revealed plans to re -apply Weinstein on the rape charge relating to Mann, who said she was “ready and ready and wanted to re -apply this account.” A hearing for that charge is set for July 2.
The scandalous film producer was accused of enforcing oral sex on Haley, now 48, at his flat in New York City in July 2006 and powerfully performing oral sex on Sokola, who is now 39, the same year, when she was 19 years old. Mann, 39, accused Weinstein of her rape in a hotel room in the New York in 2013.
Weinstein has denied all the allegations.
Weinstein’s legal issues began in 2017 when he was charged with sexual misconduct by multiple women. In 2020, he was convicted of rape and charges of sexual assault in New York and sentenced to 23 years in prison. Two years later, Weinstein tried for misconduct claims in California. He was convicted and sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison.
Four years after his first guilty verdict, Court of Appeal New York Inverted Weinstein Rape Convicts in the state due to the “egregious errors” procedure and a Retria ordered. The judge allowed victims to attest to allegations that were not involved.
Weinstein stayed behind bars because of his conviction of California, which did not change. Retrial was scheduled for April, but before the court began, the film’s executive he pleaded with the judge for an earlier trial date as he strives with multiple health issues. In October 2024 it was reported that weinstein was diagnosed with Chronic myeloid leukemiaa rare type of bone marrow cancer while behind bars. However, the Weinstein case proceeded with its proposed date in April.
Last month Weinstein gave his First interview on camera with podcaster Owens candace. In their discussion, Weinstein held his innocence.
“I did not commit these crimes. I swear that before God and the people who were watching now and on my family,” he said.
Weinstein shared that he also offered to have a lie sensor test.
