Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of a sexual attack in New York after the conviction of sexual crimes in the state was abolished last year.
A panel of seven women and five men-men for five days thought over a six-week trial before voting unanimously to condemn a disgraced movie of one of three points.
The jury found him guilty of additional charges of sexual attack, and still must be sentenced to rape.
The condemnation is in addition to a 16-year sentence that Weinstein has not yet been executed after being convicted of sex crimes in Los Angeles.
The trial was based on the testimony of three women – former television assistant Miriam Haley, actress Jessica Mann and Kaj Sokol. All three accused Weinstein of using their strength in the entertainment industry to sexually abuse them.
On Wednesday, the jurors found Weinstein guilty of attacking Mrs. Haley, but he was not found guilty of attacking Mrs. Sokol. They do not yet have to sentence Ms Mann and plan to resume reflections on the rape on Thursday.
The Court of Appeal canceled the preliminary conviction of Weinstein for his sex crimes in New York last April, finding that the 73-year-old guy did not receive a fair trial in 2020, as the judge allowed the women who made charges against him.
Vinstein was then charged with new charges in the state in September.
In his statement, the press secretary of Weinstein stated that the trial was “fair until we got into the jury.”
“More than one jury complained that other jurors were provided with ideas and used their beliefs about Harvey’s life as evidence of guilt,” the press -secretary said. “We believe that there are serious appeal issues and they will be studied.”
Over the past week, the jury has been suffered from tensions. On Monday, Foreperson accused other jury of the “attack” of other people and tries to change their mind. He said the jurors were examining the past and other accusations of Weinstein under the borders of the case when making their decisions.
The judge stated that he would give a juror instruction only to consider the charges in this case.
Weinstein – whose cancer and diabetes – are in poor health and spent during the lawsuit in the Belvo hospital, not in an island prison. He was sitting in a wheelchair.
The justice in New York was focused on two women who were charged against Weinstein’s trial in 2020, Mrs. Mann and Ms Heyle.
She also included new charges by Ms. Sokol, a Polish former model and an actress who accused Weinstein of sexual attack on her when she was 19 years old. The jury found him not guilty of attacking Wednesday.
Three women for a few days testified to the sexual abuse they allegedly survived Weinstein’s hands.
All three said they met Weinstein when they were young and searched for work in the entertainment industry. He then forced himself to at their private meetings in hotels and his homes, according to women.
His legal team claimed that his sexual meetings with women were consensus and a kind of “friends with the preferences”.
Vienstin’s lawyers tried to reject the reliability of women, showing the warm messages of some women who exchanged with the film -tag after the alleged attacks.
In general, Weinstein is accused of violating sexual actions, attacks and rapes of more than 100 women. Although not all messages have led to a criminal case, a criminal conviction in California means that he is probably spending the rest of his life in prison.
The decision of his accusers will speak, and his next conviction of New York, the #metoo galvanized movement against sexual abuse by powerful people.
Before the allegations of him appeared, Weinstein and his brother Bob were one of the main players in Hollywood.
Weinstein co -base Miramax, whose hits entered the love of Shakespeare, which won the best picture at the Academy Award, and “cellulose fantasy”.
Weinstein also encountered a number of civil lawsuits, including a group of women who accused him of sexual harassment and rape. The case led to a $ 19 million settlement (£ 14.2) in 2020.
