Harry Kane finally wins a trophy as Bayern Munich are crowned Bundesliga Champions

Bayern Munich recovered the Bundesliga title this afternoon, giving Harry Kane their first major trophy, after the closest challenges Bayer Leverkusen remained at a 2-2 draw in Freiburg.

Leverkusen, who claimed the crown last season in his story under Xabi Alonso, had to win to keep his career alive, but found himself 2-0 after a strike by Maximilian Eggestein and his own goal from Piero Hincapié in any of the half.

Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah scored to achieve the Leverkusen level, but it was too little, too late, while Freiburg kept fast celebrations in Bavaria.

Bayern almost did the job yesterday, but he refused a victory to RB Leipzig for a last-minute goal from Yussuf Poulation in a 3-3 pulsant draw.

Kane lost this game through the suspension, but the captain of England can now reflect on breaking his duck after a stellar career that had not been able to give rise to silver.

The ex -Tottenham of Tottenham moved to the Bayern in the summer of 2023, but despite a brilliant season debut in Germany on a personal level where he scored 36 goals in the league, the club could not retain the domestic title.

Its 24 goals this season had a positive effect, but with Bayern, now eight points ahead of Leverkusen with only two games.
