Last season The story of the Handmaid Virgin Found time to introduce a new romance – but not everyone loves the addition.
During the episode Tuesday, April 15, of Hulu’s series, Serena (April 15, Serena (Yvonne’s straw), and Rose’s (CAREY COX) Father, the Commander Wharton (Josh Charles), cross paths again. They turned their meal together into a late night walk, and before separating roads, Wharton put the movements on Serena by asking her to dance in the middle of the street, and that’s when Aunt Lydia is (Ann dowd) interrupted.
Some viewers don’t love by Serena and Wharton’s minute are cut short – while others wear more than here for him.
“They really push Serena’s love story in this state of the world,” wrote an audience member through X while another added, “Idk how she does, but Serena was always interested.”
Others questioned whether Serena is “played” by Charles’ mysterious new character. Regardless of Wharton’s intentions, fans were entertained by Serena finding a way to “get herself a man” again after the death of her husband, the Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes).
For those who may need an update, Serena’s husband was murdered in the season 4 finale by June (Elizabeth Moss) and other former mermaids on no one. Serena subsequently had trouble finding her place in Gilead, which is how it ended in Canada as a World Ambassador Gilead and reunite with June.
Serena, now a mother, was going to Hawaii to seek refuge with baby Noah on a train that also happened to be carrying her former mermaid. The only problem? The other refugees discovered that she had discovered the true identity of Serena so June had to push her off the train (saving her from what was sure to be a cruel death as her husband suffered). Serena found a place to stay in a safe house for women and children and create a fake identity. Serena’s escape from Gilead was short -lived, though, because of the Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) Find her and tell her She was now the spokesperson For a new Bethlehem.
While Elizabeth Moss and other Tale Handmaid stars play characters with troubled relationships, they have managed to find off -screen love. Moss made headlines when he started dating Fred Armisen after they met through Saturday Night Live. From episode four, Serena lives her best life in New Bethlehem with a new man and a job he claims to have intended to find – but is it the beginning of her happy living ever after that?
“The ultimate question with this character this season is, will she or will she redeem herself, and will she be so black and white? He never,” Strahovski, 42, said Indiewire Earlier this month for an upcoming Serena tour. “It’s very cool to be part of something not just entertainment – it’s a point of discussion for so many people for so many reasons.”
He added: “It has been difficult to put your empathy towards the other characters, mainly in June, and try to press into no opinion space with Serena and try to reach (place) where her heart is, without the judgment.”
The story of the Handmaid Virgin Tuesday and new episodes will stream on Hulu.
