Gulf giants have made changes to their coaching configuration before the fourth season of the T20 International League (ILT20) in the United Arab Emirates. With a daring movement, Gulf giants have signed former England star Jonathan Trott as the new main coach ahead of ILT20 2026.
Apart from Trott, the franchise also headed to the New Zealand Legend Shane Bond as Bowling Coach. The appointment of Jonathan Trott, who is also the lead coach of the Afghanistan Cricket team, was considered a master’s degree in the franchise for next season.

Trott and Shane replaced two of the successful coaches of the Cricket world, Andy Flower and Ottis Gibson, to the Gulf Giants. In the meantime, the South Player -African Andrew Puttick has been signed as a battle coach, while Jim Troghton has been appointed field coach by Gulf Giants.

Fitness Nick Lee has joined the new technical staff as a fitness coach before ILT20 2026. While the players auction is scheduled for September 30 in Dubai, the league will be played from December 2, 2025 to 4, 2026, in the United Arab Emirates.

Speaking of his latest work, the old batter of England said he is focused on building a strong template, as the franchise is based on the first Ot20 auction.
Jonathan Trott said in a statement: “Gulf giants have quickly become one of the most successful teams in ILT20. My goal is to empower players to excel and help shape a championship winning squad through the first Ilt20 auction.”
On the other hand, Shane Bond is ready to bring his experience to the Gulf Giants, with a strong approach to strengthening his bowling unit. Its aim is to elaborate an attack that can offer winning performances of the match at the tournament. He stated: “The team’s ambition is clear. I’m excited to sharpen our bowling attack and have a decisive impact this season.”

Gulf giants aimed at a strong comeback to ILT20 2026 after signing world -class players as Moeen aliAzmatullah Omarzai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. James Vince, Aayan Khan, Mark Adair, Beneding Muzarabani and Gerhard Erasmus have already preserved.
