Although the film was critical when it came out in 2012 – yes, it only has a 26% approval score on rotten tomatoes – Fflic Peplum Jonathan Liebesman “the wrath of the Titans“Attracts a large audience on Netflix.” The wrath of the Titans “is a sequel to Louis Leterrier’s ugly 3D-ass film in 2010 “Clash of the Titans,” Himself high redo octan of the 1981 bright fantasy epic directed by Desmond Davis and stars Harry Hamlin.
The three films are about the adventures of Greece Perseus hero, played by Sam Worthington in the red -made. In “Clash of the Titans,” Perseus’ adventures include some of what you remember studying Greece’s mythology at elementary school. He is the illegal son of Zeus, born to the human woman Danae. It grows up, raised by fishermen, in the city of Argos. When he turns 18, the king and queen of Argos has put war on the gods, stimulating their wrath. Hades (Ralph Fiennes) appears to court and says they have to sacrifice Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davolos) otherwise he will release the Kraken, a huge sea monster. Liam Neeson plays Zeus, and Perseus fights Medusa. Gemma Arterton plays Io, and there are small roles for Mads Mikkelsen, Nicholas Hoult, Pete Postlethwaite, and Jason Flemyng.
The film is terrible, but made over $ 493 million at the Box Office (!), Meaning follow -up is inevitable. The sequence extrapits from the legend of Greece and relates to strange wrists: the gods lose their powers because human beings have stopped praying on them. One might think that faith is easy to come over in a universe with Krakens, Gorgons, and gods appearing personally, but never thinking. Hades and Ares (édgar Ramírez) join to steal Thunderbolt Zeus and … well, the plot remains fast.
It’s all very witty.
The plot, to get back to it, reminds someone of a video back-aquedioner than anything that someone could encounter in ancient texts. Perseus, now 10 years older, tells Zeus, if the gods lose their powers, then Tartarus walls will collapse, releasing the Titan Kronos, such a powerful creature that can destroy the world and Topple Mount Olympus. Hades and Ares have made a deal with Kronos; Once breaks loose, he will be able to remain immortal in exchange for the power they can siphon from Zeus’s body. Perseus will have to face Kronos himself. It aims to assemble a trium spear, a weapon made from Thunderbolt Zeus, Hades’ Pitchfork, and Trident Poseidon. It’s no more sophisticated than restoring the main sword in “The Legend of Zelda.”
Andromeda is back, which is now played by Rosamund Pike. Danny Huston plays Poseidon, and Billy Nighy plays Hephaestus. There are cyclists, the Minotaur, and other godly beings as well.
The film is muddy, visually blurred, and the action is largely generic. The remake of “Titans” was clearly made by the success of “300,” Zack Snyder and steals the same ultra-style, ultra-male traps from that film. Worst of all, he doesn’t seem to say much. There is a vague theme that is about the function of faith in a world that is evolving, but it is not actually explored. It is also an illogical theme in a world where the gods are very real and proves their direct influence on the human world daily.
Sam Worthing has accumulated a reputation for playing thick -headed heroes in movies like “Terminator: Salvation” and the “avatar” movies. Worthington is actually an capable performer who took many action/genre films that didn’t demand much of it. The “Titans” movies only required it to be hard and understood.
It seems enough to win $ 302 million “wrath” at the box office and new life on streaming, nevertheless. So what do critics know?
