Granny and grandparents threw into the probe in the baby’s death in France

Grandfather Emil Sali was released without charge, two days after they were arrested for the disappearance and death of the kid in the French Alps in July 2023.

Philip Vedovini and his wife Anne were among four people detained earlier this week on suspicion of murder and concealment of the corpse.

The other two, both adult couples, were also released without thursday morning, confirmed by Prosecutor Jean-Luk Buchon.

Mr. Blachon also revealed for the first time that investigators believe that Emil’s clothes and the remains were transported to the forest, where they were found shortly before their opening last spring.

Mr. Blachon added that the analysis of the skull of the baby showed traces of “severe face injuries”, which made it possible that the third party participated in the disappearance and death of Emil.

By Thursday, one of the working theories of investigators was that Emil might have wandered himself and died as a result of the fall.

The four people who were taken into custody on Tuesday were released after answering all the questions they were asked by the investigator, Mr. Bochon said, though he added that an investigation line oriented on Emil family was not closed.

“We are still determined to shed light on the circumstances of Emil’s death,” Mr. Brachon said.

According to French law, people can be arrested for interrogation for a given amount of hours until the police decide whether they could participate in the crime.

Grandmother Emil’s lawyer, Julien’s Pinel, said Mrs. Vedovini is resting now. “It was tense and an attempt at 48 hours,” he said.

“In the course of the investigation of this kind … usually try and excludes some things. Family (Angle) was one of the lines of the investigation, this is what caused the care, and I hope it can now be put aside.”

The last observation of Emil took place on July 8, 2023, when two neighbors saw him walking down the only street in the tiny alpine hamlet, where he stayed in his grandparents’ house.

Emil, who was then two and a half years, disappeared without traces soon. The next day, hundreds of people joined the police, dogs and servicemen, but the kid seemed to disappear into the air.

And only in March 2024, Emil’s remains were found only 1 km from the village, which tourists, who said, made a find, going through the steep forest, which was not enough.

The disappearance and death of the baby shocked France, where the case continues to make headlines.
