Four people, including grandparents Emil Saleyla, were arrested for the disappearance and death of two years in the French Alps in July 2023.
Two other people arrested on suspicion of voluntary murder and concealment of the corpse are adult children of grandparents Emil, the prosecutor’s office said.
Grandpa’s lawyer Isabel Columbus told AFP on Tuesday morning that she had no comments, “just heard” about development.
Last year, some bones and baby clothes were found by a tourist tourist near the grandparents of Mother Emil in the French Alps, where the boy went missing the previous summer.
But the prosecutor’s office at the time stated that the remains did not offer any additional hints regarding the cause of Emil’s death, adding that it could have been as a result of “falling, murder or murder.”
A sudden turn on Tuesday, in the case of a colder, made headlines in France, where Emil’s search was widely covered by the media. When the kid disappeared, dozens of journalists flocked to Haut-Avernet, often exceeding 25 residents of a tiny alpine farm.

Initially, French messages were focused on Emil’s grandfather – but his lawyer said he hoped that investigators would not “spend too much time to the detriment of other investigations.”
Emil’s storage was found a few days after the police caused 17 people – including Emil family members, neighbors and witnesses – to restore the last moments before the boy disappeared.
The funeral of the tot happened in February this year. Soon his grandparents said that “silence made a place for the truth” and that they could no longer “live unanswered.”
“We had 19 months without a single confidence. We must understand we need to know,” they said.
In his statement, AIX-EN-PROVANCE Prime Minister Jean-Luk Buchon said the arrests on Tuesday were the result of investigations conducted in recent months and that the police considered “several spots in the area”.
On Tuesday, French media reported that they were searched at the grandparents in the Provence region, and police confiscated one of their cars.
In France, people can be arrested for interrogations while police are investigating whether they could participate in the crime. This does not mean that a court case will be initiated against them.
