“Good start to the tournament”

The Gujarat Titans (GT), directed by Shubman Gill (GT), started their journey to the India 2025 (IPL 2025) Premier League with the battle against Kings Punjab Kings (PBKs) of Shreyas Iyer (PBKs).

The Gujarat Titans team lost against the Punjab Kings team for 11 runs in the fifth game of the IPL 2025 at the Narendra Stadium Modi of Ahmedabad.

Gujarat titans won the launch and chose the first game in the game. The decision was reduced as the bowls were taken to the cleaners and the PBKs ended with a score of 243 for 5.

Pursuing the goal, Shubman Gill fell soon after playing at attacking cricket, but Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler beat GT in the game exceptionally. However, after their dismissal, things went down by GT, and despite the 46 of Sherfane Rutherford, they were restricted to 232/5.

Speaking after the game, Shubman Gill said they gave too many races with the ball and were not very good with both the bat and the field. However, he said they had a lot of positive and left a “good start to the tournament”. Shubman Gill said:

“I think we had our possibilities when we were bowling and smoothies. They gave up too many throws. We also let ourselves go down to the field.

“These three steps in the middle when we scored 18 runs, this and the first three supersos did not mark too much. This cost us the game. Many positive ones too. Good start to the tournament I suppose.”

Vijaykumar Vyshak turned out to be a game changing room for Punjab Kings after having entered as an impact player, as he worried Gujarat Titans’ beatings. Speaking of him, Shubman Gill said the Pealer did a good job. He made:

“It is never easy for someone to come as an impact player and dump the yorkers when you have been on the bench for 15 grains. Put them for the Yorks bowls in the trot.

“I mean, it is always a good battle footage to beat. You could get 240-250, but you also need to restrict the opposition.”

How did GT act in the previous IPL party against PBKs?

Gujarat Titans’s IPL game against Punjab Kings took place in Mullanpur on April 21, 2024. They showed a solid comprehensive performance to defeat PBKs by three doctors.

After being invited to Bowl first, GT Bowlers controlled the game, with Sai Kishore (4/33) at the helm. Rashid Khan (1/15) and Noor Ahmad (2/20) kept the PBK under pressure, restricting them only 142.

Despite a quick start to Prabhsimran Singh (35), the PBKs suffered a collapse and lost their doctors in the clusters, as they allowed GT Spinners to dominate the middle ends.

As they pursued, Gujarat Titans had enough hiccups, but somehow crossed the finish line in the final. Shubman Gill (35) and Sai Sudharsan (31) built a strong foundation, but doctors on the crucial boards kept the PBKs in hunting.

Liam Livingstone (2/19) and Harshal Patel (15/03) caused GT to work hard, but Rahul Tewatia 36 Ballofa 36 said GT came home with five balls to save.
