Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says he hopes that Ebechi Eze will play in the first European club appearance this week, even when Tottenham transfer talks continue.
After the 0-0 tie of the Palace with Chelsea, Glasner said: “There are many rumors about Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, but they were 100% with this group … and they have shown it largely.”
Asked about the Eze situation specifically, the Austrian coach added: “Tomorrow will come tomorrow on Crystal Palace training, Tuesday, we take Wednesday and I hope it will play again for us against Fredrikstad.”
The palace is with the Norwegian side Fredristad in the Ronda de la Liga de la Conference Europe on Thursday, marking its first appearance in the European competition.
They obtained the qualification by winning the FA CUP last season, but were in the league league instead of the Europa League due to the regulations of ownership of various UEFA clubs.
Glasner also praised both Eze and Guehi in his comments in the BBC party of the day: “Everyone could see the performances against Liverpool (on the community shield) and today they were 100% aligned with this team and Crystal Palace.
“Whenever they are 100%committed, they will play as they are so good.”
In the meantime, Tottenham is moving forward with his commitment to Eze.
Saturday reports suggested that the Spurs have been in conversations since the beginning of last week and are preparing a formal offer.
International England had a liberation clause in its contract worth £ 60 million plus £ 8 million in accessories, but this clause has expired.
The Tottenham is said to be negotiating an agreement with a slightly below the full package.
Palace faces a similar situation with Marc Guehi, which attracts a strong interest from Liverpool. The 25-year-old Center-Back, which also plays in England, has no contract next summer.
Last week, President Steve Parish admitted that the club would be willing to be charged instead of risking it for nothing: the palace values it around 40 million pounds, but Liverpool is reluctant to pay this amount.
