Glasner admits that the palace must replace Eze after fighting in the Conference League League classification

Crystal Palace’s head, Oliver Glasner, says that his side must find a way to compete without Ebechi Eze after he was left out of the European Conference League clash with Fredrikstad on Thursday.

The Eagles managed to win a 1-0 victory in their first European departure, with Jean-Phillipe Mateta, taking the only goal of the game.

But there was a different lack of quality on the side with Eze that is missing, which can make it difficult for them to return to Norway.

Speaking after the game, Glasner said, “When you play against such a deep blog, you may need someone who can haggle one or two players and score on their own.

“This is what Ebechi gives us. Now we have other profiles, Ismaila is a corridor, JP is in the box and Devenny. We have tried to find them on the wings with many crosses in the box.

“EBS will not play anymore for us, so it doesn’t make sense to talk about him.

“It has gone. It seems to want -all the best for the new club and for us it is to bring more players, but they will not be allowed to play in the second stage.

“We knew that this would happen more or less, so we have been looking for weeks for the right replacements and we hope to do it in ten days with more pressure.

“I will be involved, but it is my job to prepare the team for Nottingham Forest. So far we are unbeaten this season and this is how we want to continue.”

President Steve Parish was also asked after the game for the absence of Eze, with the palace head, although he confirmed the departure of his star man.

He said, “We have to go ahead. It has been great for us and we are pleased that it will continue to fulfill their ambitions.

“We have to find other players to support the team and Oliver Glasner. We will bring players, it is about finding the right players.

“I don’t think Oliver wants it too much, I think it’s the right number. It’s about making the balance correct, we’re a little thin in any case. We’re working on what we’re working on and we’ll try to get the quality we can.

“We are very lucky with Oliver because it is very involved, it is a very driven manager. It is very specific about what he wants.
