Under the leadership of the new Captain Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings (PBKs) opened its campaign to the Premier League India 2025 (IPL 2025) on Tuesday, March 25.
Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings (PBKs) won against Gujarat Titans (GT) by Shubman Gill (GT) in the fifth game of the IPL 2025 by 11 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The kings of Punjab were invited to beat the game first after losing their launch, and took full advantage of publishing a total of 243/5 on the board, thanks to the sensational performances by Batting de Iyer, Priyansh Arya and Shashank Singh.
Defending the score, Punjab Kings had problems in a moment, but the bowls kept their nerves and restricted Gujarat titans to 232/5.
Speaking during the post-party presentation ceremony, Shreyas Iyer, who also won the match player award for his unbeaten 97-Run Knock, said:

When asked about the player who changes the game Vijaykumar Vyshak, Shreyas Iyer said he is a fun character. Stated:
“He is a fun character. He has traits in him where he comes in with the right attitude. He threw the yorkers right away. He kept his calm and composition.”
Shreyas Iyer also revealed Arshdeep Singh’s words on the ban on saliva, helping the pater while the ball was invested in death. He made:
“Arshdeep played an important role in this (Yorker’s broad plan). He came in and said that the ball is really investing a little, so the ball’s saliva is helping the bowls a little.

How did the PBK act in the previous IPL match against GT?
The previous IPL match between PBKs and GT was held on April 21, 2024 in Mullanpur. Punjab Kings suffered a three -wicket defeat in this game after a failure with both bat and dance.
Choosing to beat first, PBKs started to start with Prabhsimran Singh, which marked a rapid 35 of 21 balls. However, once Rashid Khan (1/15) and Noor Ahmad (2/20) were introduced, the PBKs struggled to maintain their impetus.
Sai Kishore (4/33) deepened his problems more, rejecting medium -sized baptisms. PBKs lost his doctors at regular intervals and was able to publish only 142 runs on the board, with the end of 12 balls by Harpreet BRAR 29 Blitz playing a crucial role in a decent total.
Defending a low score, the PBKs bowls struggled bravely. Harshal Patel (15/03) and Liam Livingstone (2/19) kept GT under pressure, while Arshdeep Singh and Sam Curran also set. They brought the game to the final, but Rahul Tewatia finished their job for GT.
