Gerry Turner He has hope for his future after being diagnosed with inconceivable cancer.
Turner, 73, shared a health update during Tuesday, April 15, from “Happy Hour” podcastsaying, “I feel great. Until I have any symptoms, there is no treatment. So I often go for blood tests.”
The gold bachelor alum noted that he was have more hope After a recent appointment.
“I’m on a six -month schedule now, and I’m feeling optimistic because the doctor has said, ‘Well, when you turn 75, we’ll have to do three -month increments,’” he revealed. “So he tells me that he at least expects me to live a couple of years to get to that. But the bottom line is that I’m feeling very good.”
Reflecting on his unexpected diagnosis, Turner explained that he is grateful for the time he has left, adding, “It’s a living privilege like you die. I don’t turn down anything. I feel like I’m more open to emotions. I’m more open to experiences.”

“The person I’m dating will say, ‘Do you want to go …’ and before she even go out the rest of the sentence, I’ll say yes. So I’m in on everything,” he continued. “And it makes life excited because you’re kind of in the back of your head feels like you have a lot of life to do and you don’t know how long you have to do, so don’t reject anything. And so, in a way, it’s really a good thing.”
Turner confirmed in December 2024 that he had macroglobulinemia waldenström, which is a white blood cell -changing disease to cancer cells and accumulates in the bone marrow. At the time, he offered a new insight into his three -month marriage with his gold bachelor winner, Theresa nistwhen opening for the diagnosis.
“When you’re hit with that kind of news and the shock is wearing off after a few days or a few weeks and you re -group and you realize what’s important to you, that’s where you start to move on,” he said People. “And I hope people understand when you look back now that that has had a huge impact on my decisions and I probably think Theresa too.”
The reality star confirmed that he found out about the diagnosis while he was still married to a boot – but they had other issues that contributed to their subsequent partition.
“If that was something for him, perhaps I don’t know. But no, that didn’t consider ending the relationship,” Nist, 71, told people at the time. “Part of it was the distance, but that is not the only part. That’s all I’ll actually say.”

Disney/John FleenorHe continued: “(Four weeks are a) a very short span of time to get to know someone, and it’s a very fast speed. During those four weeks, it’s not that you are with that person every day anyway. I was only specifically specific times.”
Turner and Nist in love fell on screen and got married in early 2024 but 90 days later they filed for divorce. Nist published a public message to Turner after he went Public with his cancer struggle.
“I wish him all the best and know that he is in a very difficult position and that good things will come to him,” he concluded. “And I would like him to have a long and healthy, prosperous life for him, and hope he finds his person. I want him to be so happy, and I wish him the best of everything in the world.”
