A professional boxer Georgia O’Connor died at the age of 25A few months after doctors were diagnosed with cancer and two weeks after she married her boyfriend Longtime.
Boxing pro The Boxxer Champion confirmed her death in a statement to The guardian On Thursday, May 22.
“We are heartbroken by passing Georgia O’Connor,” read the statement. “Indeed a warrior inside and outside the area, the boxing community has lost a talented, brave and decisive young woman far too soon.”
“Georgia was loved, respected and admired by his friends here at Boxxer,” the statement continued. “Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time.”
O’Connor announced via Instagram on May 12 she and love Adriano Cardinali married, write, “09.05.2025. The day I married the love of my life. 🤍.” He wrote the headline alongside a picture of the hands of the couples with rings fully in sight.
In January, O’Connor revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer after she claimed doctors had ignored her symptoms, including debilitating pain, for months.

He continued, “But no doctor f *** ing listened to me. No doctor took me seriously. One doctor did not do the scans or blood tests that I begged when crying on the floor in pain. Instead, they rejected me.
A month after the disclosure of her diagnosis, she confirmed through Instagram that her cancer was “incurable.” She also told her followers in February that she had suffered a misconception.
O’Connor had been untreated in her boxing career since turning Pro in 2021. As an amateur, she was a gold medal winner at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, won the money at the same year youth world championships and taking bronze home next year.
“My heart goes out to Georgia’s parents and partner, I know if everything they could tirelessly and go through so much at the moment,” Boxxer CEO Ben Shalom wrote through X.
O’Connor had not fought professionally since 2022, revealing in February 2023 that she was suffering from ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease leading to colon ulcers.
