The recent crowd of World Super-Leugers WBA champion, Gary Antuanne Russell, has no scheduled rival, but has been in the gym, staying ready for the battle, as he has placed a 140-pound belt companion on his radar.
Three months ago, Russell recorded the biggest victory of his career so far, as he won the WBA world title dominantly. The new world champion is now focused on winning more gold, as a possible unified combat has aroused its interest.
Capitol Heights, a native of Maryland, Gary Antuanne Russell, made his professional boxing debut in May 2017, gaining a first -round TKO victory over Josh Ross. Russell would continue to defeat his next 16 opponents.
He received a great opportunity in June 2024 when he faced Alberto Puello in a battle by the vacant heavy weight title of WBC. Russell vs Puello’s struggle was an entertaining backward battle, but in the end, Puello won by divided decision.
Nine months later, Russell received another title opportunity when he faced the WBA World Champion, Jose Valenzuela. In the opening round of the combat, Russell was very aggressive as he pressed forward and constantly landed a strong blow.
During the early stages of the struggle, Russell overflowed Jose Venezuela with his volume of fist and his precision. Russell was able to keep up with great volume throughout the contest, as he crossed a unanimous decision victory.
With the victory, Gary Antuanne Russell (18-1, 17 kos) became the new World Champion of Super Lightweight WBA. Now, Russell, 29, is one of the four holders of the 140 -pound division belt.
Known as the bogeyman of the weight class, Gary Antuanne Russell is ready to drag in the other champions and unify the belts. Russell would like a game against Wbo champion, Teophimo Lopez, or a resale against WBC champion Alberto Puello, but the Boxeador currently on his radar is the IBF champion.
Richardson Hitchins had a stellar performance on the night of June 14, as he stopped George Kamboses JR in the eighth round. After making a statement within the ring, Hitchins expressed interest in fighting Teofimo Lopez or Devin Haney.
Gary Antuanne Russell couldn’t help but notice that his name was not mentioned. Russell proceeded to publish a publication on social media to address his thoughts on omission.
“As you can lose a 4x boy in the amateur, we both have belts in the same division, but still, you do not even want to fight me. Boxing is gentle. I will fight anyone as long as it makes sense, money or legacy.”
Gary Antuanne Russell has expressed his desire to clean the £ 140 division and wants to start the process with his rival rival Richardson Hitchins. Russell has published the call, but the question is: Richardson Hitchins will answer the call or pretend to never happen?
