Manchester City has reached an agreement with Galatasaray on Ilkay Gundogan’s transfer, according to reports in Germany.
The movement would set another high -profile output from Pep Guardiola’s workforce, after Bruyne’s Kevin’s departure earlier this summer, with Ederson and Manuel Akanji also hoped to leave before the transfer period.
Sky Germany and Fabrizio Romano report that City and Galatasaray have already agreed to terms, although the exact details are not disseminated.
The agreement now depends on Gundogan to finish the personal terms with the Turkish champions, which offer a net salary of 5 million euros.
The 33-year-old midfielder is still a year in his city’s contract, after joining the club in 2024 after completing his Barcelona agreement to help the financial situation of the Catalans.
Gundogan has previously stated interest in playing Galatasaray, and optimism is growing that the transfer will be completed in the coming days.
The movement occurs after Galatasaray failed to land the city keeper, Ederson, early this summer, with the Brazilian now linked to fierce Fenerbahce rivals.
Ensuring Gundogan, however, would represent a significant statement of intentions of the reigning champions of Super Lig.
For the city, losing both Gundogan and Bruyne in the same window would leave the side of Guardiola almost unrecognizable of what raised multiple titles of the Premier League and the Champions League of recent years.
