The new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Thomas Frank, insists that there were “so many positives” despite the fact that his side threw a two-goal lead to losing penalties against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final.
The Spurs were a few minutes after a second European trophy in months after Micky went from Ven, and the new club captain Cristian Romero had put the North London for 2-0 to the final ten minutes at the Udine Stadium Stadium, Italy.
But the Luis Enrique Champions League winners became the competition courtesy of the late goals of Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos replacements before Winning the subsequent penalty shot 4-3.
However, for great spells of the party, the French club of the whole Conquist seemed to have very few answers to the Play Plan of the winners of the Europa League: one that seemed to have the models of the Danish manager everywhere, while Spurs offered a secured screen and largely at risk.
And Frank, who left Brentford to take over a postcoglou ange this summer, wanted to keep the focus on the positives.
“We played a very good game against one of the best teams in the world, perhaps the best at this time,” Frank told TNT Sports after the game.
“We had them exactly where we wanted them for 80 minutes, then changed the impulse. But so many positive, so proud of the team, players, the club, the fans.
“There are many things to be happy, it is a flip of a coin when you go to a penalty shootout. We showed that we could be tactical and pragmatic, high pressure, low defense, the first half was higher, almost perfect.
“We showed that we can play against any team in the world. This is positive to get it out.”
Frank also admitted that while he was happy with the players at his disposal, he was strong that the squad, which seemed to be without James Maddison for most of the season after the midfielder suffered an ACL injury, could be reinforced before the Premier League season this weekend.
“I am generally happy with the template, but we can make it stronger,” he added.
“There will be a little disappointment for 24 hours, but tomorrow afternoon we will be ready.
“On Friday we will be more ready, then we will fly on Saturday (home in Burnley to the Premier League workshop).”
