New York Mets Star Francisco Lindor credited his wife, Katia Ruguero Lindorfor being a consistent support system in the middle of a busy baseball season.
Francisco, 31, and Katia married in December 2021 and shared three children: women Kalina4, and Poppy2, and son Thusborn in March.
In a unique interview with Weekly USFrancisco explained how Katia helps hold the fort down when it’s on the road.
“Someone once told me that the other most successful people have significant next to them,” Francisco said in promoting its partnership with Miracle Treat Day in DQ on July 31. “Man, that’s so true. I always say I’m married. For her to be the rock of the house, how she cares for the children. She’s an extension of me. I’m an extension of her. We raise these children to be the best human beings they can be. We try to learn the values we have and pass on them.”
He continued, “It’s been amazing. Everything is a family. Good days become better days with the family and bad days become good days. It may be a cliche thing to say, but in fact, my kids really don’t worry what I do on the field. They want their father alone.
As his children got older, Francisco admitted that away from home had become increasingly difficult.
“It’s getting harder when the children say, ‘Don’t go,'” said Francisco. “That’s when it gets harder and harder. When the children can’t talk, the woman can get the house in conclusion. But when the children start talking and say, ‘Don’t go, wait, wait,’ it gets harder and harder.”
When traveling, Francisco’s eating habits have been strictly defined, starting with breakfast at the hotel “most of the time.”
“Then I go out for coffee somewhere,” he continued. “I walk and I get my coffee. If I don’t find a good coffee spot, which is rare, I eventually get coffee in the field. Then we have meals on the field.”
After the game ends, Lindor explains, he always makes sure he gives himself a small amount of sugar rush.
“I’m a big cookie-like person,” said the five-time All-Star. “I have a cookie myself after the game (in the hotel).”
Off the field, Lindor is also passionate about giving back to the community, which includes his partnership with Miracle Treat’s Day in DQ, which takes place on July 31.

“It’s been rooted in my head since I was a toddler,” said Lindor for charity work. “That’s how my mum and dad. My dad is still telling me all the time, ‘Make sure you put back. Make sure you look out for the people in need.’ My dad is still similar to that.
