In September, France officially recognizes the Palestinian state, said President Emmanuel Macron.
A report on X Macron said the official message would be made at the UN General Assembly session in New York.
“The term necessity today is that the war in the gas is over and to save the civilian population. Peace is possible. We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and large -scale humanitarian aid,” he wrote.
Palestinian officials welcomed Macron’s move, while Deputy Prime Minister Yury Levin called it a “direct help of terrorism”.
In my message on Thursday, the X Macron wrote: “Of course, I have decided that France recognizes the state of Palestine.
“We must also guarantee Hamas’s demilitarization as well as safe and restoration.
“Finally, we need to build a Palestine condition, ensure its vitality and make sure that by taking its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, it promotes the safety of all in the Middle East. There is no alternative.”
Macron also attached a letter to the President of the Palestinian administration Mahmoud Abbas, who confirmed his decision.
Responding to the announcement of Macron, Deputy Abbas Hussein al-Sheikh stated that “this position reflects France’s commitment to international law and its support for the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and creation of our independent state,” AFP reports.
Currently, Palestine is recognized as 147 of 193 UN member states.
There are several countries of the European Union, including Spain. But the main supporter of Israel, the US and its allies did not recognize the Palestinian state.
