France forbids smoking in all open places that children, Minister of Health and Family Catherine Vautrine can visit.
The ban will come into force on July 1 and will include beaches, parks, public gardens, schools, stops and sports places.
“Tobacco should disappear where there are children,” Vautrin said in an interview published by Ouest-France Daily.
Vautrine added that “smoke freedom should end where the freedom of children breathing fresh air begins.”
Open areas of cafes and bar – known as Terrace – It will be released from the ban, she said.
Vautrin explained that the violation of the rules would need a fine of 135 euros (£ 113; $ 153).
She said the regular police would do the ban, but also added that she believed in “self -regulation”.
Although e -cigarettes are released, Vautrine said she was working on implementing the restrictions on the amount of nicotine they contain.
According to the French drug monitoring and addiction monitoring center, 23.1% of the French smoking population smoke daily – the lowest percentage, which has been recorded and more than five points since 2014.

Smoking in institutions such as restaurants and nightclubs has been banned in France since 2008.
Widespread measures to ban smoking on beaches, parks and other public places were to start in 2024, but the decree required, was never adopted.
However, more than 1,500 municipalities have already voluntarily banned from smoking in public, and hundreds of beaches across France have not been smoking over the years.
In a recent report, France’s Cancer Association La Ligue Contre Le Cancer shows that nearly 80% of French people are advocating smoking in public such as Woodland, Beach, Parks and terrace.
