France was immersed in a new political crisis with the defeat of Prime Minister François Bayru with confidence in the National Assembly.
The defeat – by 364 votes by 194 – means that Bayra will present the resignation of his government on Tuesday, President Emmanuel Macron, who now has to decide how to replace him. The macron office said it would happen “in the coming days”.
Options include the name of the new Prime Minister from the right center; Turning on the left and finding a name compatible with the Socialist Party; And dissolution of the parliament, so there are new elections.
Macron’s bitter enemies in the French left party urge him to resign him personally, but few of the commentators think it probably.
Thus, France is on the way to receiving the fifth Prime Minister in less than two years – a gloomy record that emphasizes the drift and disappointment, which noted the second term of the president.
The drop of Birer came after he put his government for an emergency discussion in confidence in the French debt.
He conducted a summer warning about the “existential” threat of France if it did not start responsibility of 3.4 trillion. Euro (2.9 trillion pounds).
In the budget for 2026, he proposed to trim two national holidays and to freeze payments and pensions on well -being to save 44 billion euros.
But he quickly got rid of any hope that his prophecy of financial death would shake opponents.
The party after the party made it clear that they saw the vote on Monday as an opportunity to resolve the bayer bills – and through it Macron.
Having no majority in the National Assembly, Bayra saw how he was united by the left and cruel right – and his fate was sealed.
Some commentators described the drop in Bayer as an act of political suicide. He did not need to call the early voting of confidence, and he could spend the coming months trying to build support.
In his speech, Bayro made it clear that he had more eyes on history, not politics, telling MPs that future generations suffer in the future when France lost its financial independence.
“The debt proposal coincides with the weapon,” he said, warning that the current level of debt means “immersion of young people to slavery.”
“You may have the power to knock down the government. But you can’t remodel the reality,” he said.
It was not signs that Bayer’s warnings had an impact on parliament or France as a whole. Deputies from the left and brutal right accused him of trying to disguise his own and Macron, bringing France to the current state.
There was also little echo in the country to analyze Bayer – with polls that show that few consider debt control as national priority, unlike the cost of life, safety and immigration.
A movement that calls itself Bloquons Tout (let’s block everything), promised the wave, boycott and protests against Macron’s policy from this Wednesday. On September 18, several trade unions also require demonstrations.
Most economic analysts agree that France is facing a huge financial problem in the coming years, as the predicted service cost increases from 30 billion euros, conducted in 2020 to more than 100 billion euros in 2030.
The need for financial restraint arises when Macron promises additional defense funds, and since opposition left -wing and tough right -wing parties require the abolition of the last pension reform that has raised the retirement age to 64 years.
Bair took over Michel Barnier’s post last December after Barnier was unable to get his budget through the Assembly.
Bayru managed to transfer the budget thanks to the pact who are not in aggression with the Socialists, but their relations were immersed when the conference on the last pension reform did not take into account the requirements of the Socialists.
Some suggested that Macron would now turn to the left prime minister without receiving the Conservative Barn and Central Bayer.
However, the Socialist Party states that it wants a complete break from the Macron Business Policy, as well as the abolition of pension reform – which would be equivalent to the president’s legacy.
Therefore, Macron is probably initially considered another figure from his own camp, and the Defense Minister Sebastien Locorn, Labor Minister Catherine Vautrine and Finance Minister Eric Lombard, who say they are working.
