Former Zambian President Edgar Lung has died at the age of 68, his party said.
He “received specialized treatment in South Africa” for an undisclosed disease, said the patriotic front, confirming the news.
Lung headed Zambia for six years since 2015, losing the election of the current President Hakinde Hicilem with a large margin.
After that, he retreated from politics, but later returned to the fight and seemed to have ambitions again to run for the presidency.
