Kaif highlighted that the team struggles to turn the tracks at home and the conditions abroad, especially in Australia, underlining the urgency of building a robust Test team that can compete at the highest level in all conditions.

“I am telling you the truth. What happened was right. Now is the time to work on our Test cricket. Everyone will say that we are white-ball champions. But if India want to win the World Test Championship (WTC), we have to build a strong test team, in Australia we have to learn to play in seam conditions, we are just so behind “, Kaif said in a video shared on her X (formerly Twitter) timeline.
Kaif further emphasized the importance of domestic cricket in preparing players for Test success. He urged the players to prioritize matches on the spin and seam tracks to develop the skills needed to thrive in varied conditions. Without such preparation and focus on domestic cricket, Kaif warned, India would continue to fall short of its WTC aspirations.
“If we have to win the WTC, the players will have to give importance to domestic cricket. They need to play on the spin tracks; they will have to practice on the sewing routes; otherwise we won’t be able to win.” Kaif added.
