Leading MSNBC Symone Sanders-Townsend pushed away from increasing the presence in the DC police, saying that during the panel on Tuesday, as a black woman, she does not believe that more officers make the communities more secure in the predominantly black quarters.
Sanders-towend, who held the post of chief spokesman and senior advisor of former Vice President Kamal Harris before coming to MSNBC in 2022, made a new initiative of President Donald Trump to make Stop crimes in the country’s capital.
Trump announced on Monday that it plans to deploy approximately 800 troops of the National Guard and assume control over the police department to resolve crimes in Washington, Colombia District. Shock waves in the mediaBut some, such as Joe Skarboro, hinted that Trump could be some truth, saying there is a crisis.
“The DC has a problem that it was not as bad as it was 2 or 3 years ago, but it’s not as safe as Manhattan. It’s not as safe as the country’s capital. By the way, I lived in DC 32. I can go to the section and verse if you want me,” the purse said.

Sanders-towend was openly shocked by the words of the treasury and pushed back, citing her experience that has lived in DC over the last 10 years, and her husband managed the Metropolitan Washington Association of Restaurants.
“This is perceived by violence, intensified by some real real actions of violence,” she said before adding, “how I heard the DC described this morning, like this city as a dangerous place, pressing your pearls, you should keep the bag under the dress when you leave the house. And it’s just not.
She said the conversation revolved around these cases of “minors”, which Trump uses as a reason to his “authority”.
Sanders-towend claimed that there are barely real crimes to force people to think that Trump may have some legitimate reason to take such measures, but all the time people “ignore the fact that more police officers are not going to correct the problem of juvenile crime.”

Skarber called her to clarify her, asking, “You don’t think more police make the streets safer?”
“No, Joe. I’m a black woman in America,” she said. “I do not always think that more police make the streets safer. If you walk the streets of Georgetovna, you do not see a police officer at every corner, but you don’t feel dangerous.”
“So, what is the places such as the Southeast DC, yes, Ward 8, when you will say, ‘Well, we need more officers to make us safe? “I think we need to review what security means in America,” said Sanders-Towns.
