Florence Pugh has never been afraid to call out unattainable Hollywood beauty standards throughout her career.
In 2019, Pugh famously hit back in a review that compared the size of her thighs to those of the WWE pro Sarah Jade Bevis (aka Paige), who portrayed her in the film Fight With My Family.
“Oh dear,” she tweet in response to the The Evening Standardthe story of that March. “Singing my ‘donky’ hips doesn’t help normalize Hollywood ‘all shapes and sizes’. In fact that is part of the problem. I hope people take more from the film than the circumference of my hams.”
The Oscar nominee has also sparked conversation with several of her stunning red carpet looks. In particular, the pink dress, transparent she wore at the Valentino Haute Couture Fashion Show in July 2022 and made headlines as she showed off her nipples.
Clapping back at haters, he wrote via Instagram at the time, “What has been interesting to watch and witness is how easy it is for men to completely destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for all to see. You even do it with your job titles and work emails in your bio. … It’s not the first time and it certainly won’t be the last time a woman hears what’s wrong with her body from a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is how vulgar it can be some of you be men.”
