At least 30 people were killed and more than 354,000 suffered from continuous heavy rains and floods in the North Indian state of Punjab.
Authorities announced all 23 flood states, after the rivers and reservoirs got to almost level.
About 20,000 people were evacuated from lowland and flooded areas, and hundreds of assistance camps were created to provide asylum and the necessary facilities for affected families.
Addressing the country to “stand behind the state”, Bhagwant Man, Minister of Pengaban Man, said that these were the worst floods that the state has seen since 1988.
Punjab is often called the “food basket” of India and is the main source for agricultural production, especially staples such as wheat and rice.
The government states that about 148,000 hectares of agricultural land, which were immersed under the water, have caused large damage to the crop.
A quarter of 30 million Punjab depend on agriculture, causing immediate concern for rural areas.
The heavy rainfall led to the water level in Sutlei, the encore and Ravi rise to a dangerous level, at risk of hundreds of lowland areas. Many reservoirs are reportedly approaching full capacity.
Many groups of disaster response, together with the Indian army, aviation and the Navy, help in rescue operations. About 35 helicopters and more than 1100 boats were pressed.
On Tuesday, chief minister Maine on the boat went to the Ferosepur area. He said the situation was gloomy and sought the funds from the federal government to combat the crisis.
The Indian weather agency said the floods were caused by repeated interactions between monsoon currents and meteorological systems such as Western disorders.
It also brought extraordinarily heavy rains to several other parts of Northern India, the report said.
Across the Indian Border Flood also devastated Pakistani province of Punjabaffecting about two million people over the past few weeks.
