Finishing 8-1-1 Season: Eddie Leads Team After Bobby Death

9-1 determined to leave viewers feeling hopeful after the shocking and tragic death of captain Bobby Nash.

Thursday’s episode, May 15, called “Seismic Shifs,” included the entire 118 – yes, including Ryan Guzman’s Eddie Diaz – banding together to help save civilians after the explosion of a building left them trapped in rubble. After the successful rescue led no deaths, Chimney Han (Kenneth choi) make it clear that the team was not going to break apart and ruin Bobby (Peter Krause) Legacy anytime soon.

“Everyone stops. You’re not coming on a red eye. And no one is transferring out and no one stays in Texas. This is our firehouse. This is the 118. And it’s not just a number. It’s ud,” Chimney declared. “And you’re right, Buck, things are never the same again because a cap has disappeared. But leaving won’t change that. It won’t make you feel less sad. It means you’ll be sad all on your own.”

He continued, “Bobby died so I could live, and he has screwed me up in ways that I cannot fully express, but the truth is that he would have done it for any of us. You see, he knew that coming into everyday work had a chance that one or more of us would not make it home, and above everything else losing it and we can not. Going to disrespect by throwing what he built right here.

Athletion

After witnessing a construction explosion – no too different from the explosion that occurred before her husband’s death – Athena (Angela Bassett) goes into the rubble to save as many people as it could. After joining a chimney, they were both stuck without an exit. When it was revealed that one of the civilians had been keeping his injuries a secret to save the other (echo of what Bobby did to chimney), the pair managed to devote their differences and eventually save the two men.

“You are a very capable paramedic and a great leader,” Athena told Chimney before they embrace. “It would be so proud of you.”

Athena ended the episode by deciding to sell her newly renovated home and go to hospital to meet a chimney and maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) New, Robert Nash Han.

“Hello, Bobby,” he held while holding the baby in her arms.

Chimney

Arriving at the crisis with the 118, a wind chimney found Athena inside and went in to help them. While in the middle of assisting injured civilians, a second drop left them stuck inside the rubble. Together, the duo rescued two injured men, working through their differences over Bobby’s death. (Bobby hid his symptoms after contracting a deadly virus so that a chimney would have the single story, ultimately leading to his death.)

Back at the station, Chimney lost his cool after realizing that the team could save everyone – meaning zero deaths – but still felt broken. He then jumped into a passionate speech that inspired Eddie to stay in La and Buck (Oliver Stark) to reject his transfer so that they could all stay together as the 118 were supposed to be.

Chimney ended the episode in hospital, welcoming his son, Bobby, who presented to Athena.

Eddie

Eddie started the episode with plans to return to Texas with his son, Christopher (Gavin mchugh), to start his job as an El Paso firefighter. In the 118’s Goodbye Lunch, the team presented its vote to take it to its new station.

However, as he packed at home, Christopher warned him of the news of the 118 crisis, and Eddie immediately went to the site to help. While Gerrard (Brian Thompson) Wanted to go to the book for the gate, Eddie found a different way to help Buck and Ravi (Anirudh Pishary) escape, lining zip from one building to the next. He credited the idea to Bobby, who taught him that there was “always a choice.”

After Chimney’s emotional speech in the 118 later in the episode, Eddie decided to stay in La with Christopher, and the duo moved back to their home.

Buckle

Buck (Oliver Stark))) The episode began by revealing that he entered for a transfer, claiming that the 118 “is just a number now.” He then went to the crisis with the 118, saving residents with Ravi before a second collapse left them captive. He and Ravi eventually escaped, thanks to Eddie’s quick thinking, and the trio went back to the building to save the rest of the team.

Later, Buck took Chimney’s speech to a heart like everyone else, choosing not to pass on. He finished the season by looking for a new place – one who feels “living in it,” as Eddie’s home did.

Maddie

Maddie’s main focus in the finale was to calculate who was stuck inside the building who fell so that she could communicate what she found back to the 118. The episode finished by giving birth to her and the chimney’s son, Robert Nash Han, named Bobby.

Cavern

Chicken (Aisha Hinds) “Seismic Shifts” began by announcing the rest of the team he passed on to take over as captain after she revealed that Gerrard was planning to step down and return to his television consultation role.

Then he took to the ground after the explosion with the rest of the crew. After safely returning to the 118, he accidentally referred to a chimney as a “cap,” suggesting that he may be stepping into the role for season 9.

Old and her wife, Karen (Traci Thoms), the episode ended by officially adopting their foster daughter, Mara (Far Askyler).
