The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rubbished all rumors that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be shifted out of Pakistan. This comes after reports of the entire tournament being shifted out of Pakistan became a trending topic in cricket.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is running against time to complete stadium renovations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It was learned that if there is a delay in the construction work, the entire tournament could be shifted out of the Pakistan. .
The construction and improvement work of Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi stadiums for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is yet to be completed.
The construction and improvement works of the National Stadium in Karachi, the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium are yet to be completed. It is learned that they have been given time till February 12, and if PCB does not complete the time, they will have to face the consequences.
Pakistan Cricket Board started the renovations in August and was due to finish the work by 31 December. However, they are not close. This has left the ICC concerned, especially as they face a lot of criticism over the facility infrastructure during the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup and could consider moving the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy out of Pakistan.

However, an official of the Pakistan Cricket Board said that all the construction work of three stadiums will be completed by the first week of February. He said that there is no need to believe in rumours, as Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.
The PCB source added that the reports about shifting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 were an attempt to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. But he added that they are ready to give their best to host the tournament. Speaking to IANS, he explained:
“All the work (related to the stadiums) will be done in the first week of February. Pakistan will successfully host the Champions Trophy. No need to go by rumours.
“We are committed to give our best. There are people who are trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. We know who they all are and why they are doing it.”

Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board also changed the venues of the ODI tri-nation series against South Africa and New Zealand. The matches will be played in Karachi and Lahore, and this led to a lot of speculation about the future of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be played in a hybrid model. While the remaining matches will be played in Pakistan, India’s matches will be played in Dubai. The tournament will take place from February 19 to March 9.
