Ferdinand Marcos’ daughter was banned from drinking after a drunken brawl on a flight

The daughter of late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos has been banned from drinking on planes and airports after she and her husband got into a drunken brawl with another passenger on board a Jetstar flight.

Analisa Hassef Cor and James Alexander Cor caused a disturbance with their “disruption” while intoxicated on a flight from Hobart to Sydney on December 29, Australian police said.

Ms. Corr was accused of “grabbing and shaking another passenger while exiting the plane’s lavatory,” police said. The couple was escorted off the flight.

They pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to comply with safety instructions and consuming alcohol not prescribed by the crew, but on Friday agreed to a drink ban while on bail.

If found guilty, they could be fined up to A$13,750 ($8,520; £6,925) for each charge.

Ms Corr also denies a charge of assaulting a passenger on board a plane, which carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.

They were also asked to offer A$20,000 each, which will be forfeited if they breach any bail conditions.

Ms Kor, 53, is a Marcos daughter who grew up in Australia with former Sydney model Evelyn Hegiesi, making her a half-sister of the Philippines’ current president, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

On Instagram, Ms. Kor describes herself as an interior designer.

According to Australian media reports, Mr Corr, 45, is a former soldier.

In a statement on the case, the police urged travelers to “be careful about their behavior at airports.”

“You don’t want to start the new year with a significant fine or, worse, behind bars,” Australian Federal Police Sergeant Luke Stockwell said.

“The AFP is increasing patrols at all major airports during the holidays and will not tolerate any dangerous, disruptive or abusive behavior from travellers,” he added.

Jetstar did not comment directly on the incident, but a spokesman said the company “will never tolerate disruptive behavior on our aircraft”.

“The safety and well-being of customers and crew is our number one priority,” he added.
