Chu Lam, a well -known food critic and cultural icon in the Chinese world, has died, according to his official social media account. He was 83.
In Hong Kong, Singapore Lam went to Hong Kong’s health resort with his family and friends nearby, read on his account on Friday.
“In accordance with his wishes, so as not to violate relatives and friends, there was no ceremony, and his body was cremated,” the saying that without determining the cause of his death.
Lam, known as one of Hong Kong’s “four greatest talents”, was a prolific writer and a popular leading food and travel.
He was the longest member of the four cultural icons, which also included the Cantapop James Wong Jim -Jim Cantapop Listo Jim and Jin Jong and neither Kuan.
Chua settled in Hong Kong in the 1960s, where he made movies – including several “Action” Jackie Chan.
As a producer, he had to travel the world to scout movies and later invited to write a column in a local newspaper, he said in the South -Chinese morning message in 2016.
“So I wrote a lot about food and restaurants, and in the end people saw me as a food critic,” he said.
With works and television speeches during the 1990s and 2000s, Chua soon became one of the most respected voices in Chinese cuisine.
In 2012, he held the position of one of China’s bite consultants, a documentary series that presents various dishes in China.
Chua mostly retreated from a public view since he fell and broke the pelvic bone in 2023. He was injured, hurrying to help his wife who fell at home. She died later the same year.
