Family fugitive in running with children request to return

The father’s family, who disappeared with his three children in the desert of New Zealand almost four years ago, asked him to return home.

The National Search was carried out for Tom Philips since he accepted Amber, nine, 10, Maverik, and Juda, 12 years, in December 2021 after the dispute with his mother.

They were seen in public for the first time after the disappearance Last October, when a group of teenagers noticed them on hikes through the bush and filmed the meeting.

“I miss you and I don’t have enough to be part of your life and I really want to see you and children and become part of your life again.”

Ms Philips said her brother was a capable builder, who, in her opinion, would build a house or “nest” in the bush as a shelter.

She also provided things with a manuscript note from her mother Julia, saying, “Tom is very sad that you thought you should do it. Without considering how much we love and can support you. It hurts every time I see photos of the children and you see some of your things that are still here.”

Police believe that Mr. Philips and his children were hiding and camps in the Western Waikat region in the north, and last year awarded $ 80,000 (37,200 pounds) for location information.

There were casual observations of the family, including in October, when a group of pig hunters, which were passing through the untouched area of the Maracope – a tiny coastal community, from where Mr. Philips came – noticed them and removed the meeting on his phones.

Last year, an arrest warrant was issued for his suspicion of bank robbery in a small town on the Northern Island.

Police said he had an accomplice during the alleged incident and warned the public from approaching him, because he was probably armed.

Police said they believed that Mr Philipse was helping evading the law by other parties.
