An online whirlwind has taken social networks, intertwining with the geopolitical climate of great bets between India and Pakistan.
Following the devastating horror attack of Pahalgam and the subsequent retaliation operation of India Sindoor’s: a military strike addressed to the horror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK): a seemingly innocu image of the old Indian Indian Cricter Shikhar Dhawan Tea Singping has lit a digital fire storm, widely interpreted as a subtle fist in the Pakistani army. However, a more detailed look of the viral sensation reveals a more complex narrative, far from the immediate post-operation that was perceived.
The genesis of this social media skirmish can be traced to the critical observations of the former Pakistan cricketter Shahid Afridi In the Indian army, he blamed for not to avoid the recent assault on Pahalgam.
Opel ex -India Dhawan quickly replicated X, reminiscent of Afridi the decisive military triumphs of IndiaIncluding the Kargil War, and unequivocally expressed its pride for the Indian Armed Forces. AFRIDI, not a receding, responded with his own headache, inviting Dhawan to “tea”: a clear reference to iconic memory “tea is fantastic” that has often appeared in the context of India-Pakistan’s exchanges, especially after the previous military encounters.
Following the successful execution of “Operation Sindoor,” a photo of Dhawan enjoying peacefully in a pool began to circulate on social media platforms. Accompanied by the provocative subtitle, “Aur Kaisi Lagi Chai Padosiyon?” (How was tea, neighbors?), The image became quickly viral, accumulating more than 7 million views on X, and it was widely believed that it was Dhawan’s direct and direct response to recent military actions and previous African comments.

However, a revision of exhaustive facts dismantles this popular perception. Research reveals that viral tea photography was not published by Shikhar Dhawan in response to “Operation Sindoor”. The image had been originally shared by Dhawan on its official social media accounts months before, on February 7, 2024, long before the recent military operation and the online consequence. The current viral site originated in a parody account that operated under the “Shikkar Dhawen” handle, instead of Dhawan’s verified profile. Social media users and meme creators had simply repopulated the oldest image to create a mocking narrative addressed to Afridi and Pakistan in the context of the highest stresses, without any direct Dhawan involvement in their recent circulation or subtitle.

Although the “photo of tea” was a malatribution, Dhawan did, from his official account, directly addressed the serious situation. Their subsequent publications are read, “India takes a position against terrorism”, and “With respect to our brave choirs to protect our borders so strongly and stop Drone’s attack on Jammu. India is strong. Jai Hind.” articulating his support for the actions of the Indian army without resorting to memes or indirect.
India takes a position against terrorism. Long life Mother India!
