Ebechi Eze’s impressive effort helped Crystal Palace secure his place in the Fa Fa Cup final, as he passed to Aston Villa on Saturday in Wembley.
Villa was the clear favorite for the first of the semifinals this season, but Unai Emery’s men, who lacked Marcus Rashford, were completely overcome by Oliver Glasner.
Eze directed them towards the final with a goal that would live for a long memory in the 31st minute, their impressive strike deserved a reward for an excellent beginning.
The Palace saw a golden opportunity to do so 2-0 to ask when Jean-Philippe Mateta lost a 54-minute penalty, but a double in the second half of Ismaila Sarr assured that they would face Manchester City or in the nottingham forest in the final next month.
Morgan Rogers missed an excellent opportunity to give Villa the leadership in the 24th minute, firing after the left-wing left of Lucas Digna had bounced off his way.
It seemed that his profile would have been punished when Mateta passed through Emiliano Martinez five minutes later, only for his effort to be discarded in a controversial way by a foul to Ezri Konsa.
But Villa’s relief was short, as Eze lit Wembley with a fierce 20 -gardens strike that flew beyond Martinez despite the Argentine goalkeeper gave him a hand.
Although Konsa approached to answer, Palace continued to dictate issues and Sarri and Tyrick Mitchell turned each of the extremely promising openings to make it 2-0, the latter lacked his kick with the goal apparently at his mercy after the eagles cut off Villa with amazing ease.
John McGinn Sand Dign saw that the efforts served for Dean Henderson after the pause and his frustration increased when Anthony Taylor pointed to the place after Boubacar Kamara had left Eze inside the area.
Mateta, however, sank his lines, his excessively non -forceful effort struck the outside of the right post.
However, Sarr assured that Mateta did not live to regret the Miss, finding the lower left corner with a powerful low car from the area after Adam Wharton had gained possession in the middle of the field.
Villa’s threat declined as his task became tougher, and Palace would have made the 3-0 one way he had somehow managed to send his nearby range head while completely marked in the box.
Although seven minutes were added, Sarri’s glittering gaze did not matter that Palace saw the victory with difficulty, the same man adding a final flourishing while hitting home a third after Youri Tielemans was stripped. Sarr’s second headed a miserable day for Villa and rounded a Glasner and his players will never forget.
