Zach Cregger is already in place on his next project after release and success Weapon: new Evil Resident Film. The video game franchise has been subject to seven live-acting feature films, but Cregger brings something to the table for this eighth trip that actually makes me interesting.
The previous seven films (and even the forgotten single -season show) have all taken a direct inspiration from stories and characters in the Evil Resident Game series. According to Zach Cregger, his Evil Resident A film breaks with the program by offering a brand new story that will not rely on identifiable characters.
This is exactly what we need from new Evil Resident.
The original series of six Evil Resident Films made under the supervision of Paul Ws Anderson sprayed their own original story and a leading character into the games world. While I admitted affinity for more than a few of those films, they were not terribly interested in trying to capture the real atmosphere and the tonal method of the games.
Given, Evil Resident is a series based on taking more classic horror concepts and injected with excess sci-fi madness of experimentation. The first game is all about a horrific manor out of some gothic story, and it seems that it will be a typical zombie story at first. But there is also a huge snake and a mutant shark in the mixture. Therefore, Paul Ws Anderson’s absurdity is not supported by the games.
Then we got Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon Citywhich looked like a fan movie leisure from the games to a damaging degree. Instead of approaching what makes those games actually work at the core of Welcome to Raccoon City is nothing but a surface understanding of the material. We did not have a Evil Resident A movie that put us in the same vibespace as the games.
That brings me back to my excitement to Zach Cregger and his attitude on a Evil Resident Film. Cregger has sworn up and down that he likes the games, and is writing a story that will respect the canon’s story lines from the games. I do not give two licks for a canon but a gun that will be fanning a great deal of fanboys.
Instead, I’m excited that someone like Zach Cregger seems to be approaching Evil Resident with a daring take. Telling a story that takes place in the established world of the games but with new characters sounds like it will actually offer some real creative freedom. And if Weapon and Barbaric Is there any indication, Cregger is going to bring narrative and visual talent to the project.
I think there is such an incredible potential for a Evil Resident A film that has not yet been taped in, but Zach Cregger seems like the right dose for the job. If he can put a visionary stamp on the material when offering something they love to DieHard fans, he will look at the instructional run quite.
