“That’s where problems arise, when people come and don’t know the currents or sea conditions,” Sanz shared. “That can lead to deaths and tragedies like the one that happened last Sunday, when the American actor drowned.… Accidents can happen – and this time, it happened to us.”
Later, the Caribbean Guards echoed Sanz’s comments, sharing that Playa Grande, one of their “most challenging beaches,” was known by “local surfers” for his “strong currents.” They noted that there were signs in Spanish and English “warning the danger of death because of drowning.”
Rica’s Red Cost Cross confirmed on July 21 that emergency personnel attended two adult patients on the spot. From this announcement, a 35 -year -old man who has not been identified was transported in critical condition to the local clinic and his current condition is unknown, while CPR has been performed on Warner, declared dead on the spot.
