“Every 50-50 decision was for them”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his frustration with the referee in his defeat in the Champions League semifinal against Inter Milan after a second legs classic in San Siro.

After fighting against the 2-0 at home to tie the first game 3-3, Barça sought to get their place in the final in Munich when Raphinha shot his 13th goal in the champions league three minutes since the end of the normal time to stand by Flick 3-2 at night.

The 21st minute of Lautaro Martinez and the penalty of Hakan Calhanoglu had previously given the Inter command, only for Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo to level the tie once again before the precise end of Raphinha.

But, Francesco Aerbi, 37, Francesco Aerbi provided an impressive blow, forcing the additional time with his first European goal in the 93rd minute, before Davide Frattesi finally got a meeting that tied the semi-end record of the highest two-legged championship league, giving an Inter a 4-3 victory at night and a triumph of 7 to 6.

Speaking later, Flick had nothing but praise for his players, although he accused dissatisfaction with referee Szymon Marciniak.

“I am very disappointed that we are out but I’m not disappointed in my team’s performance. They tried everything,” said Flick.

“We are out, but next year we will start again and make our fans happy, the club and all around us.

“They (Inter) are a very good team, a strong team that defends well, but they also have a very good striker.

“In the second half we were very good. I don’t want to talk about the referee, but every 50-50 it was for them.

“We gave it everything, but in the end it was so and that’s what made me a little sad.”

Contentious individuals for Barça, the hopes of his agitation ended with the defeat in San Siro, and was the penalty granted to the latest in the first half.

Initially it seemed that Pau Cubarsi had timed his challenge to Martinez perfectly to stop an exchange on the left, but Marciniak pointed out the place after a revision by the edge, and the replacements suggest that Cubarsi did not contact the ball.

Garcia called into question this decision, saying -Prime Video Sport: “For me, the first curbasi was very close to me, it is never a pen for me.

“I think in the first half go down 2-0 was hard. The reaction we had in the second half was incredible.

“We were even more likely to close the game.

“It is one of the decisions made, but this is football and we have to be proud of what we did.”

Barça still have a job to do to complete a double of LaLiga and Cup of the King. There are four points ahead of Real Madrid in LaLiga with four games to play, and they can all seal the title with a home victory in Clasico Sunday.

“We have to go out, we have to be proud,” added Garcia.

“No one believed in us at the beginning (of the season). Many changes and changing the manager, really young players and we have to be proud.”
