EU sending help by fire to Spain when the number of dead is increasing

The European Union sends two planes to help Spain fight ragery fires after the country first stepped up the mechanism of assistance to the EU disaster for fires.

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Moraska told local media that he had asked for two aircraft from the EU bombers to be located in the worst affected areas.

Help comes when the third person was killed by fighting a fire in the northwestern region of Leon.

The State Agency for Spain Aemet warns that the thermal wave will continue until Monday, with the temperature exceeding 44C in some areas, causing concerns that the fires will extend further.

In an interview with local media, Caden Ser on Wednesday, Spanish Minister Fernando Grando-Marlaska said he had asked for two Canadair Water Bomber planes.

“At the moment, we do not need two Canadian planes, but given the weather forecast, we want these planes to be in our national territory as soon as possible so that they can be used if they are needed,” he said.

“At this time, the government does not rule out any more firefighters,” he added.

Thousands of people were evacuated from their homes in Spain, and 700 more evacuated from the Western City of Cassers on Wednesday, the Civil Guard reports.

Also on Wednesday, a civilian and volunteer firefighter were killed in Leon – raising the dead at present.

“We were again impressed by the death of the second volunteer who lost his life in Leon. All our love and support goes to his family and friends at this unbearable time,” said Pedro Sanchez Prime Minister on social media on Thursday.

“All state resources are working on solving the difficult situation facing our country. The threat remains extraordinary,” he added.

Spain is one of several European countries that feel the burning temperature and the fight against forest fires that have sought help from the EU.

Together with Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Albania, the mechanism of the EU civil defense mechanism has also intensified. Any country affected by the catastrophe in Europe and abroad can seek emergency assistance through the mechanism.

As of Thursday, European countries sent planes to those who sought help except the stated firefighters who had already assisted in Greece.

In Greece, forest fires were burning on the third consecutive day, with the most dangerous fronts on Chisos Island and in the Ahiei Peloponnez region.

So far, 95 people, including firefighters, were injured. EU satellite emergency service shows that more than 10,000 hectares (25,000 hectares) have been burned across the country on Tuesday.

Authorities made a red warning on Thursday, warning of a very high fire risk in the atoics, Eastern Central Greece, Evia, northeast Peloponnese and Thrace.

In Chios, the fire front stretched tens of kilometers, and in the presence of limited resources, many resources needed to evacuate the sea with the help of coast guards and private vessels.

The fires were also raging in Albania and Turkey, and several firefighters were injured when they fought with sticks.

EU data show that approximately 439,000 hectares of land have been burned since the beginning of the year since the forest fires compared to 187 643 hectares (464,000 hectares) last year.
