Ethan Plath not sure of a sister Lydia Platha hurricane romance during the Welcome to Plathville Premiere Season 7 – especially after his own marriage ended in divorce.

“Gun marriage is when the family usually insists they get married, so they hold them in Gunpoint until they got married,” Lydia explained to Zac, before the producers told her that this was not the right definition.

The true meaning of “gun marriage” suggests a hurried marriage “based on pregnancy,” but Lydia did not buy it. “So you don’t think about a real shooting gun at the wedding? Well, that’s what I think about it,” he admitted.
After the bombs was dropped on Ethan, and learned more about Zac meeting Lydia in a church in Colorado in August 2024, he was still not convinced of Zac coming into the family.
“What the hell is happening?” Ethan asked during a confession after watching Zac and Lydia laugh and go Giddy in the kitchen while Barry enthusiastically rooted them.
Ethan joked, “My dad seems like someone slipped something in his kombucha,” before distracting, “I didn’t even know I was meeting this guy tonight.” (Ethan was one of the last two brothers or sisters to meet Zac before he offered in December 2024.)

Meanwhile, Lydia knew within weeks of meeting Zac on a trip to Colorado that he was the one. “Zac and I had only been dating for 16 days when we both knew we had found us forever,” he told the cameras. “That is, there were so many godwinks that you could call them, or things we could not, like, have organized whether the Lord had and we both knew.”
Lydia and Zac Tied the knot in February with seven of his eight siblings in attendance, including Ethan.
