Breeding bats star Erin Bates fought for her life following the birth of her and her husband Chad PaineSeventh child.
Paine announced through Instagram on August 27, 2025, that he and Bates had welcomed their son, Henry Blythe.
“After a long and emotional labor, our miracle arrived. Henry Blythe was born August 25th. đź’™,” he wrote. “Henry makes wonderful, but we would therefore Appreciate your prayers to Erin as she continues to recover from some complications. We thank the Lord for carrying us through and for the gift of this precious boy. “
Paine later revealed that his wife had experienced a septic shock after she suffered infections in her body.

Septic shock is the last and most serious stage of sepsis, which occurs “when your immune system gets an extreme response to infection,” back Cleveland clinic. “The inflammation across your body can cause dangerously low blood pressure.”

“We wanted to thank all of you for all the prayers and support you have put on our behalf. It’s been a week since our miracle, Henry came into the world. It is doing well in the Nicu and he is our bundle of happiness,” he started.
Paine continued, “We had asked for prayer for recovery for Erin because of complications. Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet evidence of grace for nurses, staff and doctors alike. We are all moved by her kindness and gratitude in the midst of the pain.” ”” ”” ”
Paine explained that Bates “developed UTI infection and the severe kidneys, which Sent her to a septic shock. “
“At the moment she is still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose and search for answers. We would hide your prayers for this beautiful woman who is so much light in a dark world. We hold on to God’s promises,” he concluded.
Paine shared in another update on September 4, 2025, that Bates suffered difficulty in her recovery.
“I have so many mixed emotions as I shared this. Last night Erin suffered a long and severe attack. Up to this point, Erin’s infection was recovering, but we found ourselves back in a heartbreaking place, uncertainty and tears,” he wrote.
Paine added that Bates “in the ICU” as doctors continue to run “scans and tests to determine the cause” of his illness.
“Erin is extremely weak and has spent only half -aware hours. Like her husband, he is one of the hardest things I have ever faced – sit by her side and watch her struggle by being so helpless to relieve her suffering. I love her deeper than words can express her, and I can’t even imagine life without my best friend,” she continued. “The hours have been long and heavy, and I know that many hearts are painful to see it like this, along with mine. We hold faith that healing is coming, even in the middle of the unknown. Your prayers are felt and we are forever grateful.”
Nearly two weeks after giving birth to baby Henry, Bates they appeared to be on the threshold After she was hospitalized for septic shock.
“With tears in our eyes, we praise the Lord that we are on the way to recovery,” wrote Bates and Paine through a clause Instagram Post on September 6. “Your prayers have definitely touched on the heavens 🙏.”
The couple also featured a video of Bates embracing her new -born baby in a hospital bed.
