Dane spoke honestly when he began to experience the symptoms of the degenerative neurological disorder, starting with a feeling of “weakness” in his right hand.
“I really didn’t think any of it at the time; I thought maybe I had been texting too much and my hand was fat,” he remembered. “A few weeks later, I noticed that he had worsened a little. I went to see a manual expert, who sent me to another hand expert. I went to see a neurologist, and the neurologist sent me to another neurologist and said, ‘This is well above my pay degree.’
After nine months, Dane was officially diagnosed. “I’ll never forget those three letters,” he said.
Dane further revealed that he had lost the function of his right arm. “I feel maybe a couple, a few more months, and my left hand will not (act) either,” he said, noting that he was worried that his legs might be next.
