Enzo Maresca has made it clear that he and his Chelsea team are determined to adopt a “victory at any cost” mentality for the conference league final against Real Betis.
Fresh a place in the Champions League with a crucial victory over the Nottingham Forest, the Blues quickly directed their attention to the final.
The squad traveled from Cobham to Wroclaw, Poland, where they immediately headed for Stadion Wroclaw, the configuration of the Wednesday night clash.
On arrival, Reece James and Levi Colwill was incorporated in Maresca for media commitments before leading an open training session.
This final end of the pitch offered another opportunity to Maresca to focus the efforts of the squad on the task that was in hand.
“The message of the last 48 hours has been:” We have done something important (qualifying for the Champions League), but if we want to confirm that we are again an important club, we must show the desire to win the game and the trophy, “said Maresca.

“So it’s a job done (at the Premier League), fantastic, and we’re happy. But tomorrow it’s a different game, a final, and we want to win at any price.
“Every day we have something to prove, without a doubt. What we have done (classify us for the Champions League). Now we have to show us again tomorrow.
“We have played many games this season in this competition, now we have another.
“Surely, for me personally (there is something to prove), but the message to the players is exactly the same. Every day is an opportunity to improve, and we want to compete with the titles.”
Maresca has confirmed a workforce of 23 men for the final. Above all, Christopher Nkunku is again available after recovering from injuries.
Nicolas Jackson, who lost the last two games of Chelsea’s Premier League due to suspension, is also again in the mix.
