Leave it to Sir Elton John to find the spark in surgery. The music icon revealed how he Turning his head -clips into wearable jewelry keepers While sharing a close view of his personal life and glitter -drenched career in a new documentary short film, Touched by gold.
“When I got my head -knees removed, first left and then right, I asked my surgeon I could keep the knees, which was rather scary about it -then I called you,” said Elton, 78, in Weekly USUnique clip before the first appearance of the movie on Monday, September 15, noting that he put a jewelry designer Theo Fennell Creative freedom to do “what you want with them” after his head -clin in place.
Fennell said his team had “baked” his head -to “dry out” – indicating that the process makes the bones raw as pumice and permeable stone, after which they can be painted with acetate and polished them up.
Eventually, Patella’s right Elton was transformed into a gold-plated sparkling necklace. “My surgeon said I had the worst knees he has ever acted on,” the performer noted at the top of the chart. “That hole was actually in my head. It looks a bit like an old artifact from Egypt.”
The “Rocket ManThe hit maker praised Fennell for going a step further, revealing that he “greatly had the necklace chain made out of bones.”
Fennell then turned in, “I just thought it would be more fun to get a necklace that reflected it at the end.”

On the back of the necklace is a Latin phrase that translates to, “I will no longer bow to any man.” The jewelry designer pointed out that that is something “you can’t do with a missing head.”
Later in the clip, Elton shared that his left -handed and smaller head was turned into a trophy as they could not do “as much as it.”
“I honestly believe that these are everlasting pieces that will last for centuries,” he shared proudly.
Elsewhere in his documentary, Elton spoke of his love of wearing 8-inch platforms, pointing out that he was not surprising to have two knee transplants later in his life.
He also explained how his life has been touched by gold in fascinating ways, both on and off stage. Elton added, “The gold is so important … the gold shoes, the gold glasses, the golden costumes, the golden caps … they are so much part of who I came to.”
