Leonard Ellerbe confirmed to X today that the fight between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach is still on for March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) caused some drama this week when he posted this message on Instagram on December 23rd: “The fight is crap to cancel.” Davis later deleted the message. On the same day, Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) posted a video of himself working out, preparing for the fight.
Some fans believe that Tank is trying to create fake drama to increase interest in his mismatch against Roach as it is seen as another of his many options during his 11-year professional career.
The fight has already been moved once from December 14th to March 1st, and it looks like a product that no one wants match

It is unclear if former Mayweather Promotions CEO Ellerbe is still working with Tank Davis or if this is an acquittal.
Neither Gervonta nor his team considered what the fan reaction would be when they chose super featherweight Roach as their opponent.
