Billy Joel‘s Elizabeth Weber Opens up where she stands with the famous singer after their famous relationship and marriage nearly a decade long.
“If I want to talk to him or have something to say, I can contact him whenever I want,” Weber said only Weekly US On Friday, August 8. “But he has a wife and he currently has children and is currently struggling with something that … that’s a big thing.”
In May, Joel, 76, canceled the residual dates in his 2025 journey after revealing that he was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a brain condition where an abnormal amount of cerebrospinal fluid accumulates, causing walking, memory, balance and bladder control problems.
“So (our relationship) is as close as it needs to be for two people who decided to divorce 40 years ago,” Weber continued, adding that she “of course” reached out to her former in the midst of her health diagnosis.

Weber first met Joel when she was married to his best friend and former -fand, Little jon. The pair participated in a subsequent relationship, which led to the band to break up and Joel battling severe depression which included two attempts to commit suicide. Later, the pair re -connected after a weber divorce and married in 1973, going on to spend nearly 10 years together before ending their marriage in 1982. Joel went on to marry Christie Brinkley In 1985, welcoming a girl Alexa Ray Joel Before calling he quit in 1994. Then Joel married the author of a cookbook Katie Lee In 2004 – the pair divorced five years later in 2009. In 2015, Joel married Alex Roderick. The pair shares two children, From Rose Joel and Remy Anne Joel.

When talking to UsWeber said that her son and grandchildren also know and even a little close to Joel.
“I have my grandchildren that he knows and they know him,” he explained. “My granddaughter Ella learned Bill what Tiktok was and showed him what was happening. And his relationship with Sean is important to both of them.”
Not only is Billy Joel the piano man, but he is also a dedicated family man. He added, “So we’re not far but we know, and he lives in Florida and I live in California. But it’s all good.”
Weber said that her son Sean and Joel were “very close,” adding that the three were “living at the top of the mountain during their wedding.
“We entertained each other,” he explained. “Bill and I worked all day and the whole writing process had never been made – in the years Bill and I were together – it wasn’t done remotely or (a) studio. It happened in our living room, and Sean was an integral part.”
